Primarily by bringing the consumer new rules about new products, the consumer- the housewife- has a great interest in the products. She has to go out once, twice a week and fill her shopping basket and take food and things home to keep her family going, and she wants to know what there is and what’s of good value and what’s new and important- -But is it a necessary thing for her to have that new product? Is advertising not promoting the desire to acquire things that one doesn’t really need? Of course it is! What does one really need? And you insult the intelligence of the consumer if you think you can sell her with a few vapid adjectives puffing your product. The consumer is not a moron. I remember once running an advertisement and the advertisement was addressed to girls- teenage girls- and it preyed upon their insecurities. I have a hard time forgiving myself for that because they’re unhappy enough with their complexion as it is. When you say ‘’Advertising should not be abolished but it must be reformed,’’ are you particularly referring to the kinds of modes and techniques they use in television? Well I’m first of all referring to the fact that there is too much advertising on television, and I go almost mad with the commercial interruptions. I want to smash the sets up and get on with the program. There is far too much commercialisation. And then there’s another thing I want to reform are billboards-posters on highways. For every prospect pleases, man alone is vile, he’s at his vilest when he puts up a billboard on a beautiful landscape. Privately I’m going to start a secret society of masked vigilantes and we’re going to ride around the country on silent motorbicycles, at the dark of the moon, and we’re going to chop down the billboards which desecrates this beautiful country- -Aha Ooh- -and if we’re caught, will anybody convict us for such acts of benevolent citizenship? No. Well Said! One of my criticisms is, that advertising does insult intelligence.

Some of the most generous people I know have no money, and that’s how it should be. When we have no money it’s a different life. In our language we have no such word as please or thank you because it is what is expected of us, that we share and we give what we have. Before Monnie In our language we have no such word as ‘’Please’’ or ‘’Thank you’’ because it is what is expected of us is that we share and we give what we have. Today we have to say ‘’Please’’, we have to say ‘’Thank you’’, we have to beg for things. In the old days it was just a given thing that we would share things, that was part of who we are, and not only for aboriginal people. I expect people all around the world would do the same things before money. Before Monnie Sampling: Human (2015) Yann Arthus-Bertrand

I Need Everything now Otherwise the wait and heavy gait will take me down Better play the saint though hide the taint while we all drown Make no mistake I’m not as good as Jesus I can't walk on water-not until it freezes over My soul’s permeable to shit-talking haters I ain’t immutable matter but I'd rather Falter fall and try harder than Harbour the lies that make us killers Full of corn starch fillers Cruel for porn starves the spirit’s innards Proning to drone on cheap ritual thrillers It figures Babylon gone and tried to drown InI in figures So here I hone my craft to condone them stone throwers Clear the monotone left after the theft of our future Prepared administer proper suture But only after I shear through the perpetrators of pop culture Hollywood prop sculptures Ripping through pages of Scripture Amateurs Still immature and so scared of one’s own nature it's safer to scatter smart scanners in order to steal stagnant tenure high in Babel’s Tower Where’s the love?

This I don’t understand. It’s not just this music you’re making, but the whole philosophy - Oh! It’s defiance, like, we’re out there saying we are gonna do what we fucking want to do with our lives and we’re not gonna waste our time.
